The gleaming goldtop finish seems virtually exactly as it did when it was first manufactured. The distinctive mini-humbuckers have a balanced, vibrant sound that is absolutely amazing. Many of the greats who play these early ’70s vintage Les Paul guitars can testify to the fact that this Les Paul is a magnificent example of the well-crafted guitars from this era. This is a ’73, as shown by the year on the CTS pots, the inlaid Gibson logo, and the little volute. It will be delivered in its stunning original hardshell case.

Body: The body is made of solid “sandwiched” mahogany, while the top is made of carved maple gold with cream binding.

Neck: It features a three-piece wood neck with an inlaid Gibson logo and a tiny volute. The neck is rather thin in the first position, but as you travel up, it tapers to a little deeper profile. Pickups/Hardware: The original tiny humbuckers with cream rings on this Les Paul sound fantastic. They offer a warm, expressive tone with a ton of dazzling sustain and great dynamic range. It features the original wired tune-o-matic bridge with posts that go into the wood, a cream pickguard, and gold top hat knobs. The tuners are replacement Schallers.

Cosmetics: This Les Paul’s top is very flawless. Around the bottom bout, there are a few extremely little dents that are no larger than the tip of a pen. Under the toggle switch is where the biggest dent is (see picture). There is some genuine playwear on the back of the instrument, such as buckle rash and tiny scuffs, but nothing that compromises the quality. The Les Paul in question is really playable. Our in-house luthier recently finished leveling and crowning the frets and fitted them up with minimal action. With a fresh set of 10’s strung on it, it is playing and sounding fantastic.

Changes: One of the strap buttons was changed, and the original tuners were swapped out with nickel Schallers.
