Buy 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 Vintage Electric Bass Jetglo Online. A 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 is being offered for sale. It is 100 percent original, incredibly clean (apart from slight buckle rash on the back), and has frets that are almost flawless. The hardware and plastics are all in excellent condition. This Rickenbacker has the greatest thumps, growls, and sustain, plus it has a stylish gloss Jetglo finish. The two original Hi-Gain single coil pickups on this 4001 provide plenty of middle power and punch when strung with new 45-100 roundwound strings. This 4001 guitar, which weighs 9 lbs 2 oz, has been expertly set up by Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with a smooth action and reliable intonation.

The three-piece maple/walnut neck measures.910″ deep at the first and twelfth frets and has a full D-shaped profile with a spacious shoulder. The gloss-finished slab rosewood fretboard has original narrow frets and pearl triangle inlays, and the 33 1/4″ scale is Rickenbacker’s customary long scale. The frets feature fret-edge binding, which shows almost no wear higher up the fretboard and just a little wear on the crowns of frets 1-3 under the E and A strings. The nut has a width of 1 11/16″. The bass is equipped with a pair of original clover button tuning devices with smooth and dependable gears and the Rickenbacker logo and truss rod cover.

With unbroken solder connections and an original harness with CTS pots from the 37th week of 1977, all of the electronics function as they should. The serial number on the Rick-o-Sound stereo jack plate has a neatly printed RC-prefix and is dated March 1978. Pickguard, long baton switch tip, and four knobs are just a few of the original plastic components that are still in perfect condition. The chrome-plated hardware, which includes the original bridge pickup bezel and bridge assembly as well as the adjustable mute and mute foam, is very clean.

The upper bout of the back has buckle rash on the Jetglo gloss surface, along with a few other minor dents and finish scratches. The top only shows a few minor scuffs and one spot where forearm use has worn through the sheen on the lower bout edge. The neck profile’s gloss surface is pristine and devoid of palm wear.
