A 1986 Rickenbacker 325V59 that is 100% original, flawlessly functional, and comes with the original hardshell case is up for sale. This uncommon and no longer produced Rickenbacker model is an exact replica of the 325 Capri, complete with a Bigsby B5 vibrato that was added at the manufacture.
This Rickenbacker small scale replica is equipped with the original trio of Toaster Top single coils and perfectly captures the vintage jangle and percussive beat recognizable to any Beatles fan. At only 7 lbs 1 oz, the instrument is also very light. This Rickenbacker has been expertly set up at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and is strung with 10-46 roundwound strings. It also has low action and perfect intonation.

The CTS pots and undisturbed wire harness ensure that the electronics operate just as they should. The “ZL” prefix on the mono jack plate denotes December 1986. This guitar has three of the higher output Toaster Top pickups that Rickenbacker provided in this period, and the three-way pickup selector ties the center pickup to the neck and bridge enabling tone combinations that are only available on triple pickup models.
Plastics include the two-tiered gold pickguards. The lowest tier of the back-painted lucite pickguard has noticeable oxidation and greening of the gold paint, while the Rickenbacker-branded truss rod cover has more subdued oxidation. The four oven knobs complete the set of plastics. Together, the bridge and original Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece provide a highly useful and sensitive vibrato that is ideal for fast warbles and modest dives and easily returns to the original pitch. The only sign of wear on the Jetglo finish is a small area of buckle rash in the middle of the rear and sparse further wear on the body as a whole. The chrome plating on the hardware is shining apart from a little amount of patina on the Bigsby. The neck profile’s gloss finish is neat and sleek.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
