1987 Rickenbacker 360/12 OS BT "Old Style" Electric Guitar White Black Trim 360/12V64 For Sale

1987 Rickenbacker 360/12 OS BT "Old Style" Electric Guitar White Black Trim 360/12V64 For Sale. The bass is strong and concentrated, and the strings jangle with lots of high end. Despite Rickenbacker's designation of the pickups as "Hi-Gain," their moderate single coil output enables the distinctive top end to come through with a smooth middle that has the ideal amount of percussive cut. The 8 lbs. 1 oz. guitar balances well on a strap. This Rickenbacker, which was expertly put up here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, has a low action and is simple to play in all registers.

Buy 1987 Rickenbacker 360/12 OS BT “Old Style” Electric Guitar White Black Trim 360/12V64 Online.A 1987 Rickenbacker 360/12 OS BT, complete with the original hardshell case, is up for sale in outstanding, collector-grade condition. It also functions flawlessly. This very unusual guitar has a bespoke color White gloss finish bordered by black top and back binding, visually reflecting Rickenbacker styling from the middle of the 1960s. This extremely magnificent instrument was basically the forerunner of the V64 reissue, replete with the “BT” (Black Trim) black hardware package. The “OS” (Old Style) 360 body form alludes to the pointed cutaways.

The tone has all the characteristics of a 12-string Rickenbacker, including chime, sparkle, shimmer, and an especially well-balanced and rich acoustic voice.

The bass is strong and concentrated, and the strings jangle with lots of high end. Despite Rickenbacker’s designation of the pickups as “Hi-Gain,” their moderate single coil output enables the distinctive top end to come through with a smooth middle that has the ideal amount of percussive cut. The 8 lbs. 1 oz. guitar balances well on a strap. This Rickenbacker, which was expertly put up here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, has a low action and is simple to play in all registers.

The maple neck with twin truss rod reinforcement is round and welcoming with a little more weight in the upper registers, measuring.870″ deep at the first fret and.955″ at the 12th. The original thin fretwire, which still has its full factory height and well-rounded crowns, is present and undamaged, and it is inlaid with pearl triangles on the bound slab rosewood fretboard.

With a straight neck and responsive, well set truss rods, the frets play cleanly in every range with just a little amount of wear on the crowns of frets 1-3. The stock nut is 1 5/8″ wide, and the scale length is a full 24 3/4″. The original Schaller black tuning mechanisms on the headstock all have smooth rotations and pristine finishing. Of course, the truss rod cover and well-known Rickenbacker logo are also on display.

The guitar boasts twin “Rick-o-Sound” output jacks that allow for either mono or stereo operation, and all of the electronics function as they should. Everything is precisely as it was when the instrument left the Rickenbacker factory, with undisturbed solder joints and CTS pots that date to the third week of 1986. The jack plate has a “B0” prefix, which translates to February of 1987.

There are separate Volume and Tone controls for each pickup in the control scheme, and a fifth knob combines the signals from the neck and bridge pickups (especially useful when both pickups are engaged). The body’s original factory marks, including the “WHT” abbreviation for the custom color, are present behind the pickguards. The plastic components are almost pristine, and the original two-tiered pickguards are still in place. There are two tiny mounting holes directly ahead of the bridge, which were probably intended to place MIDI pickups at some point in the guitar’s history. The chrome “R” tailpiece and six saddle bridge are also present.

An very neat and well-kept instrument, the White finish is exceptionally brilliant and only has very little gloss fading. The body as a whole has a few sparse, tiny nicks and scuffs, and the body horn on the bass side of the instrument has one isolated area of wide finish checking. Only a few minor finish scratches and nicks, as well as one additional yellowed area from lying on a stand, are visible on the neck profile. Along with the original hangtag and manufacturer documentation, the original black tolex hardshell case is also included.
