The Jackson Stars instruments are the direct offspring of the Grover Jackson series and were beautifully produced at the Chu Shin plant. They are an extremely rare Japanese domestic market model with a Polka Dot finish. His eponymous guitar was really the first Jackson produced, and it was initially ordered by the late, great Randy Rhoads. Soon after early 1980s production began, it immediately garnered a following in the hard rock community and has been performed by many notable figures, including Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, Marty Friedman of Megadeth, and Kirk Hammett of Metallica.
