In addition to having six strings, a shorter scale, thinner strings, and a mechanical vibrato arm, it diverged from the Fender Precision Bass’s design. The four-string Precision Bass and its variations were more popular than the Bass VI, which never achieved that success. In 1975, the model was abandoned.
