Gallo Guitars ‘The Ugly’ Handmade Electric Tenor-Cigar Box Style Guitar Relic Red
Be sure to check the video below! Handmade and hand painted for an art exhibition, these things are super fun! Modelled after Tenor/ Cigar Box Style guitars and given a relic 60s aesthetic, this is made from recycled/ reclaimed materials and feature a solid aluminium neck with pine fretboard and black dot inlays. The body comes from an old scaffold board and the fretboard wood comes from my old bed!
True to its name, this one is tuned to an ugly low open tuning, and features skewed tuners with one reversed. The 12th and 15th markers are moved to the 11th and 14th positions to give you an ugly surprise when you move up the neck!. With a single P bass pickup and lone volume knob, it’s a no nonsense ‘plug in and play’ blues machine. ‘The Ugly’ features custom hand painted symbolic artwork and 15 medium levelled frets. Check out my other listings for ‘The Good’ and ‘The Bad’ from the same collection!
Happy to pack up n post, or you’re very welcome to trial and collect from Huddersfield.
