While I am not a fan of ultra-thin shred necks, the Ultra-8 Prestige neck profile properly balances the extra difficulty of a wider neck. This guitar has the thinnest neck of the 8 string models that Ibanez offers. While maintaining increased playability, it creates the appearance of a larger neck profile. The addition of the Galaxy Black Sparkle finish is a subtle but welcome departure from the many gloss black guitars produced today.
